Accident
As an employee, you are insured against accidents through your employer. But a private room, some treatments or costs abroad are not always covered.
What LAA accident insurance covers
If you work at least 8 hours a week for the same employer, you are insured against occupational and non-occupational accidents (art. 13 OLAA, the accident insurance ordinance). Medical treatment, a daily allowance and, in the event of disability, a pension are provided.
The gaps to know about
The LAA reimburses treatment in the general ward. A private room, certain costs abroad beyond the legal limits, or services not on the list are not covered. Supplementary insurance can fill these gaps.
Without an employer or working few hours
Under 8 hours a week, only occupational accidents are covered by the employer. Without an employer (studies, self-employment, retirement), accident risk is covered through your health insurance or a separate accident insurance policy.
What I do
I check your current cover, identify gaps based on your work, your sports and your travel, and compare useful supplementary insurance. You receive a written recommendation.
